Our Durban based client is Urgently looking for a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to support the mental health needs of our patients, working across adult and adolescent care in both hospital and outpatient environment
Minimum Requirements:
- Medical degree and full registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Completed specialization in psychiatry (for specialist level) or eligible to practice independently (for newly qualified)
- Experience with adult and adolescent psychiatric care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnosis for adult and adolescent patients
- Deliver evidence-based treatment, including medication management and psychotherapy
- Supervise and support junior doctors minimally, ensuring quality of care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Participate in professional development and maintain knowledge of current psychiatric practices
